This is a continuation of the Top 10 Bodybuilders of All Time – Part 1, which I published earlier.  I haven’t ranked them in order because it’s so subjective.  Feel free to post here with your feelings on who should be #1.

Frank Zane

Frank Zane was born on June 28, 1942 in Kingston Pennsylvania.  He stands at 5 feet 9 inches tall.  During his competition days, he weighed in at between 187 – 195 lbs.  He has the distinction of being one of only 3 people to have ever beaten Arnold Schwarzenegger in a bodybuilding competition when he won the 1968 Mr. Universe title in Miami, FL.He won the Mr. Olympia three times – 1977, 1978 and 1979.  He is one of only a few people under 200 lbs. to have ever won the Mr. Olympia.  Some say he actually changed the emphasis put on mass to shift to aesthetics. During his career, he also won the titles of Mr Universe, Mr America, and Mr World, among others.Zane was inducted in 1994 into the Joe Weider Hall of Fame.  In 2003 at the Arnold Classic, Zane was awarded the Arnold Schwarzenegger lifetime achievement award for his support and furtherance of the sport.He is an author of many books on bodybuilding such as Super Bodies in 12 Weeks, Zane Nutrition, Frank Zane Mind Body Spirit, The Zane Way to a Beautiful Body, and more.

Sergio Oliva

Sergio Olivia was born on July 4, 1941 in Cuba.  He is 5 feet 11 inches tall.  His competition weight was around 225 lbs.  Writer Rick Wayne gave him is nickname “The Myth” because he said that everyone who saw him thought it was unbelievable.While competing as a Cuban weightlifter in Jamaica, he escaped to the American consulate and was given political asylum.  After moving to Miami, he began his bodybuilding career.  He won his first contest in 1963 – Mr. Chicagoland.    In 1966 he won the IFBB Mr World and Mr. Universe.Sergio won the Mr. Olympia title three times – 1967, 1968 and 1969.  His last win in 1969 made him the only person to have ever beaten Arnold Schwarzenegger in a Mr. Olympia contest.Flex WheelerKenneth “Flex” Wheeler was born on August 23, 1965 in Fresno, California.  He is 5 feet 9 inches tall.  During his competing days, he weighed in at around 235 lbs.  He had 22″ arms.He won his first bodybuilding title in 1989 – NPC Mr. California Championships.  He has never won a Mr. Olympia title, though it was said that Arnold Schwarzenegger described him as one of the bodybuilders he had ever seen.  He did go on to win many titles including IFBB Arnold Classic (4 times), IFBB Ironman Pro Invitational (5 times), and the 1996 IFBB Night of Champions.Flex retired from competitive bodybuilding in 2002 and received a kidney transplant in 2003.

Jay Cutler

Jay “Cuts” Cutler was born on August 3, 1973 in Sterling, Massachusetts.  He is 5 feet 10 inches tall.  During competition, he weighed 260 lbs., had a 58″ chest, 22″ arms, 30″ calves, 34″ waist, and 19 1/2″ neck.His first bodybuilding win was at the 1993 NPC Iron Bodies Invitational.  It was in 2000 that he really broke into  the big leagues with his win at the IFBB Night of Champions.  He won three consecutive titles at the Arnold Classic in 2002 – 2004.He finished in 2nd place at Mr. Olympia four times to Ronnie Coleman before beating him in 2006.  This time, Ronnie Coleman took 2nd place.  Jay went on to win the Mr. Olympia in 2007, lost it in 2008 and reclaimed it in 2009.  In 2010, he won his 4th Mr. Olympia title.  He is only the 3rd bodybuilder in history to have reclaimed the title – the other two being Arnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu.In 2011, Jay was runner up in the Mr. Olympia contest.

Ronnie Coleman

Ronnie Coleman was born on May 13, 1964 in Bastrop, Louisiana.  He is 5 feet 11 inches tall.  When he was competing, he weighed in at 285 lbs. with 22″ arms, 58″ chest, and 34″ thighs.His first bodybuilding title came in 1990 – Mr. Texas.  He holds the record of having won more events than any other IFBB professional – 26 wins.Between the years of 1998 to 2005, Ronnie won the Mr. Olympia 8 times.  This is a record that he holds along with Lee Haney.Today, Coleman lives in Arlington, TX where he works as a police officer.
